MOST 17-year-olds would think that leaving home and striking out on their own without parental supervision is a big adventure. But not local identical twins BY2, who went to Taiwan two years ago to pursue a career in showbusiness.

The cutesy sisters, Miko and Yumi Bai, 17, quit school and flew to Taipei for training to become successful singers.

The duo, who recently released their second album Twins, say they had to cope with an entirely new environment in Taiwan and master Mandarin, which was the main language there.

Miko says in Mandarin: 'It was difficult adapting to the Taiwanese culture initially. We had to learn how to handle the media there and how to answer tough questions. But we have since assimilated.'
